Campaign Promises

If there was one line that stands out from Tuesday night’s victory speech in Chicago by President-elect Barack H. Obama, it is this:

Sasha and Malia, I love you both so much, and you have earned the new puppy that’s coming with us to the White House.

This is one campaign promise that Mr. Obama should keep. Perhaps all Americans will be better off if he does not keep the rest of them.
