Tails Humane Society in DeKalb, Illinois, has received custody of the nearly 300 animals that were surrendered by their owner on Tuesday, October 22, 2007, in Lee County. The animals include malnourished and dehydrated dogs, cats and birds. The owner has been arraigned on charges of animal cruelty.
